General Description

Introducing an extraordinary large sized Hyalite Opal specimen! These specimens may exhibit fascinating associations with feldspar, quartz, tourmaline, and other trace elements, enhancing their visual appeal and geological significance. Hyalite Opal, also known as Muller's glass, water opal, and jalite, showcases a glassy and clear appearance, often accompanied by an internal play of colours if natural inclusions are present. The name "Müller's glass" pays homage to its discoverer, Franz-Joseph Müller von Reichenstein. While Hyalite Opal from Namibia is frequently encountered, it often co-occurs as a minor side show in association with quartz or tourmaline specimens from the region. Exclusive Hyalite specimens are relatively uncommon, and we occasionally offer limited batches primarily consisting of Hyalite specimens, albeit sporadically. Notably, material from the region tends to exhibit UV activity, although it may not be present in every instance. Therefore, we recommend testing to confirm UV activity upon receipt of your specimens. Price is grade dependant. Items are as shown.
